Great edition as always, Kylie. I loved Nobody Wants This, too, and I enjoyed the first season of Shrinking and will have to make time for the second. As for NaNoWiMo, apparently a lot of writers are boycotting it this year because of various controversies, the latest being their supportive stance of AI. I’ve never participated in it, and hadn’t planned to as November is just too busy a month.
I didn't know about these controversies and I started off strong out of the gates but now have some editing for another project I have to do, so I may end up boycotting more by accident than by design. Let me know what you think of Shrinking's second season!
NaNoWiMo is way too much pressure for me and creates a backlog with agents and publishers in the ensuing months. I prefer to keep out of it. Yes, busyness can sometimes be a cop out, so if people can’t fit me into their schedule I tend to move on.
Thanks for the shout out and hope you join along in our #writesquadcommunity500challenge. 500 words a day is doable enough for those not ready to fully commit to NaNo.
I haven't watched the Menendez Brothers doco but watched the series which is very one-sided and only loosely based on fact, most of fictionalised for TV. I had a hard time engaging because I knew it was so fictionalised. Keen to watch the doco though.
